Mr. Hogan is a partner with Kohnen & Patton, which he joined in 1987. His practice focuses
primarily in the following fields:
- Banking, Finance and Creditor’s Rights, with emphasis on commercial lending and
debtor/creditor matters, generally serving as lender’s counsel in the preparation of
documentation for, and the closing of, commercial loan transactions. Mr. Hogan has
participated as a speaker in several seminars and educational programs for local lenders,
and has written articles covering a variety of financial topics for local business publications.
- Real Estate and Land Acquisition, with emphasis on the acquisition, leasing, sale and
development of commercial real property, in which he has represented both purchaser and
seller, and landlord and tenant. Mr. Hogan was one of the first attorneys in Ohio to be
certified as a specialist in Business, Commercial and Industrial Real Property Law by the Ohio
State Bar Association.
- Tower Land Title Agency, Inc. Mr. Hogan is a licensed title insurance agent, is the
Executive Vice President of Tower Land Title Agency, Inc., and serves as the Agency’s primary
commercial agent and underwriting analyst. He also has significant experience in Like-Kind
Exchange (Section 1031) transactions.
Mr. Hogan is a life-long resident of Cincinnati. He graduated from St. Xavier High School in 1980,
and, after attending Bucknell University in Lewisburg, Pennsylvania, and Case Western Reserve
University School of Law in Cleveland, Ohio, returned to Cincinnati in 1987. He has been involved
with a number of local charitable organizations, and was a founder and long time board member and
officer of Case Western Reserve University’s Cincinnati Alumni Chapter. Mr. Hogan is a member of
the Ohio State Bar Association’s Real Property Law Specialization Board which oversees the revision
of the certification exam and the approval of new applicants.
